INTRODUCTION
We take data stewardship seriously. Your account, your rules — but also our responsibility to treat that data with care. This section sets out what we collect, how we handle it, and how you stay in control. TLDR: You own your account and data. You can edit or delete your account anytime. We only access your account for security or support. We retain limited data post-deletion for legal reasons. We’re building a smarter AI-driven consent dashboard.
1. ACCOUNT OWNERSHIP
Your account belongs to you.
  • You control the personal data and content you provide.
  • If you’re an employer, you must have permission to represent your company or post jobs.
 
2. WHO CAN ACCESS YOUR DATA
Only authorized staff at The Chef Network (operated by Matalino.ai) can access user data — and only for:
  • Security investigations.
  • Technical support.
  • Responding to data subject requests.
 
3. EDITING & DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT
You can request deletion at any time.
  • Deleted accounts are removed from public listings immediately.
  • We may retain anonymized logs, billing records, or legal correspondence.
Example: If you worked with us and received a VAT invoice, we legally must store a copy for accounting purposes.
4. BACKUPS & RECOVERY
We back up key data daily.
  • Disaster recovery plans are in place.
  • Our backups are encrypted and held in secure data centers.
 
5. INACTIVE ACCOUNTS
Accounts inactive for 24+ months may be flagged.
  • Before any deletion, we’ll contact you by email.
 
6. LOGGING & AUDITS
We log changes to important account actions:
  • Password resets.
  • Email changes.
  • Permissions edits.
Logs are retained for 12 months to support audits and incident response.
7. CONSENT & OPT-OUTS
You can opt out of marketing or job alerts any time.
  • Data collected with consent (like AI chef suggestions or email subscriptions) can be withdrawn.
  • We’re currently building an AI Consent Tracker — a dashboard that shows you:
    • What you’ve agreed to.
    • When you agreed.
    • How to change or revoke that consent.
This feature is in development, and we’ll update this section when it launches.
8. DATA PORTABILITY
You can request your data in a structured, machine-readable format (CSV/JSON).
  • Requests are completed within 30 days.
 
9. HUMAN REVIEW GUARANTEE
All flagged accounts or content are reviewed by a human before removal.
  • Automated systems may flag content, but final actions involve human oversight.
 
10. DATA TRUST STATEMENT
We believe good data builds better services. The more we understand how people use our platform, the better job tools we can build — from personalized chef alerts to relevant job post placements. But you’re always in control. Share only what feels right. You can remove or update data at any time.
11. FUTURE-PROOFING & AI
As AI evolves, we commit to notifying you before using your personal data in automated decision-making.
  • We do not sell personal data or use AI-generated scoring systems on users without clear consent.
