<p>Cafe Alba in Airdrie is looking for an enthusiastic chef who can work with us to grow our business even further.</p>
<p>As part of the team you can expect to freshly prepare and cook breakfasts, lunches, home made soups, burgers, chilli con carne, macaroni cheese etc. We actively encourage our team to contribute ideas for our menus and to create weekly specials.</p>
<p>The chef&#8217;s role will include upholding the high standards of hygiene and health &amp; safety practices within the company. We will provide training in this and in food ordering, book keeping etc.</p>
<p>Cafe Alba was founded in 2008 and continues to thrive &amp; grow year on year. Take advantage of this rare opportunity to become a key member of a well established and professional team&#8230; one that works to high standards in a calm &amp; relaxed manner with good levels of productivity.</p>
<p>Shifts typically start from 8am and finish no later than 6pm. (No evening work!) Tips are shared out monthly. (Both cash &amp; card!) As we are a family run business, you will be able to to enjoy the benefits of having Christmas Day, Boxing Day &amp; the 1st and 2nd of January to enjoy with your family.</p>

<p>As Cook, you will do more than just prepare meals — you will create dishes that nourish, comfort, and bring joy to those in our care. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will help deliver a varied, balanced menu that supports the health and wellbeing of every resident. You will take ownership of the kitchen when needed, ensuring meals are prepared to a high standard and that food hygiene and safety protocols are consistently maintained.</p>
<p>You will also be responsible for managing kitchen operations, including monitoring stock, maintaining food safety records, and supporting kitchen cleanliness. Whether you are cooking for special dietary requirements or simply plating up a resident’s favourite dish, your role will make a meaningful difference each day.</p>
<p>What We Are Looking For</p>
<ul>
<li>City &amp; Guilds 706 – 1 &amp; 2 or equivalent qualification (achieved or working towards)</li>
<li>Basic Food Hygiene Certificate</li>
<li>A strong team player who enjoys working in a collaborative kitchen environment</li>
<li>Good communication skills and the ability to understand and meet individual dietary needs</li>
<li>Experience working in a care home environment is desirable but not essential</li>
