We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and passionate Chef to join the kitchen team for the opening of our brand-new Scottish Food restaurant in Broadford, on the Isle of Skye. This is a great opportunity to be part of a new opening from the beginning and help establish a well-organised, supportive kitchen environment that values teamwork, quality food, and work-life balance.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently during busy service. You will work closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team to ensure dishes are prepared and presented to a high standard. Previous kitchen experience is beneficial, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and kitchen standards
• Ensure food is consistently prepared, cooked, and presented to a high quality
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and workstations
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
• Monitor food quality and report any issues to the Head Chef or senior kitchen staff
• Assist with stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients
• Work efficiently during busy service while maintaining attention to detail
• Support the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth service
• Qualifications
• Previous experience in a professional kitchen is preferred but not essential
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop new skills
