Job Summary We are looking for a passionate and reliable Chef to join our team, at busy and growing country pub. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with fresh ingredients and takes pride in delivering high-quality, home-cooked food in a traditional pub setting.

You will play a key role in shaping and delivering a strong, consistent food offering while maintaining the high standards already established within the business.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a high-quality, fresh country pub menu
• Maintain excellent food hygiene and kitchen safety standards at all times
• Ensure the kitchen consistently meets and maintains a 5-star EHO (Environmental Health Officer) rating
• Manage stock, ordering, and minimise waste
• Understand and control food costs and GP margins
• Ensure consistency in food quality and presentation
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with all regulations
• Contribute ideas for menu development and seasonal dishes
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their skills and ensure consistent food quality.
• Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times. Requirements
• Valid Food Hygiene / Food Safety qualification (Level 2 minimum, Level 3 preferred)
• Proven experience working as a chef in a pub, restaurant, or similar environment
• Strong understanding of fresh food preparation and cooking techniques
• Good knowledge of kitchen cost control and portion management
• Ability to maintain and uphold 5-star EHO standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, organised, and able to work under pressure
• Passion for producing quality food and a good country pub menu
• Good organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Job Type: Full-time
• Pay: £12.71-£18.71 per hour
• Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
