*Job Summary:* We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Short Order Cook/Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of fast, simple meals in a timely manner while ensuring high standards of food quality and cleanliness are maintained in the kitchen. In addition to cooking duties, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Prepare, cook, and serve a variety of short order menu items such as burgers, salads, and breakfast dishes.
* Follow established recipes and portion controls to ensure consistent quality and presentation.
* Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, and ovens safely and efficiently.
* Ensure all food items are cooked to the proper temperature and served in a timely manner.
* Monitor inventory levels and notify management of any shortages.
* Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
* Perform routine kitchen cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dishwashing, and sanitising surfaces.
* Dispose of garbage and waste materials in accordance with health regulations.
* Assist with stocking and organising food supplies and kitchen equipment.
* Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team to ensure smooth operation.
*Skills*
* Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment.
* Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills.
* Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
