Chef De Partie

We are looking for a cafe chef to join the team at our Tynemouth cafe.

At Laneway we serve some of the best coffee available in Newcastle in a modern contemporary cafe space.

Alongside this we serve a carefully considered breakfast, brunch and lunch menu. We are looking for someone who can work with our front of house team to deliver this and work with the head chef to innovate and create new dishes.

A passion for creating great food and a strong work ethic will trump outright experience. We have a small and close knit team in our Tynemouth cafe and we are looking for someone who will look out for their fellow team members, put in the enthusiasm and pride in your work to create a consistently great product.

To apply you must

• Be available to work most weekends.
• Be available and able to travel to the cafe for early starts (6am) the trade off is early finishes of 3-3.30pm.
• Have experience working in a kitchen and working in an independent cafe environment a bonus.
• Have experience working well under pressure and delivering high standards
• Be able to work as part of a team but also under your own initiative when needed
• Most of all be enthusiastic, hardworking, punctual and reliable.
