Commis Chef

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes according to established recipes and standards
• Support the food production process to ensure timely delivery of meals during service hours
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with health and safety regulations
• Supervise junior kitchen staff where necessary, providing guidance and support
• Contribute to menu planning and development alongside senior chefs
• Ensure all food safety procedures are adhered to, including proper storage, handling, and hygiene practices
• Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying management of shortages or expiry dates
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge Requirements
• Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills
• Previous supervising experience or leadership qualities are desirable
• Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
• Excellent team management skills with the ability to work collaboratively under pressure
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail in food quality and cleanliness
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required for service shifts
