Commis Chef

Overview The White Swan Woodnewton is a very busy multi award winning pub/restaurant located in the beautiful rural village of Woodnewton. We are one of the busiest causal dining venues in the area.

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef to join our kitchen team in our fast paced kitchen. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in food preparation and cooking, with a keen eye for food safety and hygiene standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your culinary skills within a professional hospitality environment, contributing to the delivery of exceptional dining experiences. Previous kitchen experience, along with leadership qualities and team management skills, will be highly advantageous.

• Duties
• Contribute in the assembly and presentation of desserts
• Contribute in the assembly of pizzas
• Support senior chefs in food production, ensuring consistency and quality across all menu items
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations
• Contribute by offering creative ideas and feedback
• Ensure all food is prepared efficiently to meet service times and customer expectations
• Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management to minimise waste Requirements
• Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of food production processes and culinary techniques
