Commis Chef

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Commis Chef to join the kitchen team at Kingdom – a unique countryside café and weddings venue set in the heart of Penshurst.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone at the early stages of their chef career to develop their skills in a creative, fast-paced environment, working across both café service and special events.

About the Role

As a Commis Chef, you’ll support the kitchen team in delivering fresh, seasonal dishes for our busy daytime café as well as assisting with weddings and private events. You’ll gain hands-on experience across different sections and learn from an experienced team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and basic cooking tasks
• Support service during busy café shifts and event days
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene
• Follow recipes and guidance from senior chefs
• Help with stock rotation and kitchen organisation
• Ensure all food is prepared and presented to a high standard What We’re Looking For
• A genuine passion for food and cooking
• Some kitchen experience preferred (training provided)
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work well in a team and under pressure
• Good attention to detail
