Head Chef

Job Summary A Tandoori Chef is responsible for preparing, marinating, and cooking a variety of tandoori dishes such as shijler, naan breads, and grilled meats using a tandoor oven. The role requires strong knowledge of spices, marinades, and traditional cooking techniques.
Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook tandoori dishes (e.g., chicken tikka, naan, roti) Operate and maintain the tandoor oven safely and efficiently Marinate meats, seafood, and vegetables using traditional spice blends Ensure consistent taste, quality, and presentation of dishes Monitor food stock and assist with inventory control Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with food safety standards Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service Follow recipes and portion control guidelines Assist in menu planning and development of new tandoori items Skills & Qualifications Proven experience as a Tandoori Chef or similar role Knowledge of traditional Indian spices and cooking techniques Ability to operate a tandoor oven safely Strong attention to detail and food presentation Good time management and ability to work under pressure Understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations Teamwork and communication skills Education & Experience Culinary training or relevant certification (preferred but not always required) 2+ years of experience in Indian or South Asian cuisine Working Conditions Fast-paced kitchen environment Standing for long hours Exposure to heat from tandoor ovens Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required
