** THE MERCHANT STEAKHOUSE** The Merchant Steakhouse is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of food preparation, food safety, and hospitality. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, managing staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the kitchen team, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.
• Develop and implement innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while meeting customer preferences.
• Supervise food preparation processes to ensure quality and consistency in every dish served.
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards within the kitchen.
• Train and mentor kitchen staff, helping them to develop their culinary skills and knowledge.
• Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs to maximise profitability.
• Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor kitchen performance and implement improvements as necessary to enhance efficiency. Experience
• Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
• Comprehensive knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen management.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
