Kitchen Porter

Overview We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and hands-on Kitchen Supervisor to join the team at Todo Tacos and Patty Shack (Smash Burgers) . This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in fast-paced food service, solid food production knowledge, and a genuine passion for standards, teamwork, and hospitality.

As Kitchen Supervisor, you will support the day-to-day running of the kitchen, oversee food preparation and service, maintain strong food safety standards, and help build a disciplined, positive, and efficient back-of-house team. You will play a key role in ensuring consistent food quality, service speed, cleanliness, and operational control.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise kitchen staff during prep, service, and close-down, ensuring food is prepared efficiently and to a high standard.
• Support smooth day-to-day kitchen operations in a fast-moving service environment.
• Ensure compliance with food safety procedures, cleaning schedules, temperature controls, labelling, stock rotation, and general kitchen hygiene at all times.
• Help maintain consistent portioning, presentation, and quality across the menu.
• Assist with menu development, recipe execution, and kitchen organisation.
• Monitor stock levels and support ordering to ensure the kitchen remains fully operational.
• Train and support new team members in cooking methods, food safety, allergen awareness, equipment use, and kitchen procedures.
• Communicate clearly with chefs, kitchen assistants, and front-of-house staff to keep service running smoothly.
• Deal with food quality issues or operational problems quickly and professionally.
• Promote a strong team culture built on accountability, urgency, communication, and standards. Experience and Skills Required
• Proven experience in a supervisory role within a kitchen, restaurant, street food, or hospitality environment.
• Strong working knowledge of food preparation, kitchen organisation, and fast-paced service.
• Good understanding of food safety procedures, cross-contamination prevention, and cleaning standards.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
• Confident leading and motivating a kitchen team during busy services.
• Strong communication skills and a positive, solutions-focused attitude.
• Passion for hospitality and delivering consistently high-quality food. Essential Requirements
• Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate required
• Allergy awareness knowledge required
• Good understanding of safe food handling, storage, labelling, and kitchen compliance
• Reliable, punctual, and able to lead by example Desirable
• Previous experience in a high-volume casual dining, street food, or fast-casual kitchen
• Experience with stock control, prep planning, and team training
