Summary ‘Commis Chef & Kitchen Porter’ at Driftwood Spars is an essential role in the business, we are located in Cornwall. This position plays a crucial part in maintaining the kitchen’s efficiency and cleanliness, contributing to our mission of providing exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation and cooking under the guidance of chefs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Support team members in daily kitchen operations.
- Handle dishwashing and equipment cleaning efficiently.
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation.
- Collaborate with chefs to enhance service quality.
- Participate in training new kitchen staff as needed.
- Qualifications
- Previous kitchen or food preparation experience is preferable but not essential.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude.
- Basic culinary skills are preferred but not required.
- Flexibility to assist in various kitchen tasks as needed. Ideal position for someone who wants to start a career as a chef.
Will cover KP holiday shifts as well as assist with kitchen prep.
Pay will depend on age & experience.
