Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be a key part of the operations team responsible for the production of high-quality chilled products across a fast paced food manufacturing business.
You will be leading a shift team consisting of 3 direct reports (Area Leaders), with an overall headcount of up to around 40 people during peak periods. As a crucial member of the manufacturing management team, you will also have full site responsibility during the nightshift and at weekends.
Main Responsibilities:
This is a challenging, rewarding role and your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
– Leading your team to deliver the production plan, working to ensure all KPIs are achieved to include full accountability for labour variance, waste and material variances.
– Providing strong leadership, leading by example to drive performance and promote best practice, audit ready and GMP at all times
– Coaching and developing your team, identifying areas for training and improvement, and supporting them to ensure they’re able to perform to the best of their ability.
– Leading KPI meetings to review and improve performance and working with other managers to identify and resolve longer term issues and challenges
– Promoting a proactive team culture, looking for new and improved ways of working
– Ensuring that all work is carried out safely
Ideal Candidate:
– Previous experience of leading production teams in a food manufacturing environment
– Target driven, with demonstrable experience of achieving production KPIs
– A proactive approach to problem solving skills, able to get to the root cause of issues and come up with practical solutions
– Strong leadership skills, able to develop and motivate teams to drive performance
– Effective communication and interpersonal skills, somebody who can develop good working relationships with colleagues at all levels across the business
– IOSH certification and a proactive approach to Health & Safety
