Relief Chefs

Job Overview We are a small, independent cafe located right in stunning Sennen Cove. We pride ourselves on a laidback and friendly atmosphere, with great coffee, homemade cakes and fresh food.

We’re looking for an Assistant Chef/cook to support our Head Chef and help keep the kitchen running smoothly during our busy seasonal trade. This role is perfect for someone who is looking for day-time hours, enjoys working with fresh ingredients and being part of a close-knit team.

The position is a part-time role 3 days a week, (with scope for more if desired). We are looking for candidates with a positive attitude, who are able to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in preparation and service throughout the day.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations at all times.
• Preparation and baking of homemade cakes – all training and recipes will be provided.
• Cooking and plating fresh café-style food.
• Helping lead the kitchen during busy services.
• Assisting with stock control, ordering, and reducing waste.
• Running the kitchen on days when the Head Chef is off. Experience
• Previous experience in a kitchen environment
• Level 2 food hygiene certificate preferred but not essential
• Calm, organised, and reliable in a fast-paced environment
• A positive, team-focused attitude
