Sous Chef

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, the Sous Chef will assist in managing daily operations, supervising kitchen personnel, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained at all times. Duties

• Assist the Head Chef in planning menus, preparing dishes, and overseeing food production to ensure consistency and excellence.
• Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training new team members and delegating tasks effectively.
• Monitor food safety standards and hygiene practices in accordance with health regulations.
• Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory to minimise waste.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
• Support in developing new recipes and menu items to keep offerings innovative and appealing.
• Ensure all food preparation complies with company standards and customer expectations. Experience
• Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment.
• Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation.
• Demonstrable team management skills with the ability to lead by example.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality settings.
• Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, with a solid understanding of hospitality operations.
• Experience in serving customers directly is advantageous but not essential.
• A comprehensive understanding of culinary techniques, kitchen management, and food presentation is required to succeed in this role.
