INTRODUCTION

Welcome to The Chef Network (“TCN”), a job board and freelance chef listing platform operated by Matalino.ai. These Terms of Service govern your use of our website and services. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Site.

1. WHAT WE ARE
TCN is a marketing company based in the Philippines. We operate an online platform that connects chefs with businesses in the UK. We are:
  • A job board, not a recruiter or employment agency.
  • A matchmaker, providing access to freelance chefs based on your post.
  • A platform for visibility and connection, not employment representation.

2. WHAT WE ARE NOT
We are not:
  • An employer or employment agency.
  • Representing chefs or businesses in a legal, financial, or contractual sense.
  • Guaranteeing hires, matches, or outcomes.
  • Vetting or certifying the users on our platform.

3. ELIGIBILITY
Users must be 16 years old or older. If you’re under 18 and seeking an apprenticeship, stage, or training role, parental or guardian oversight is strongly recommended. We reserve the right to close accounts where we discover users are underage.

4. PAID LISTINGS AND SERVICES
Our primary paid service is job visibility and access to our freelance chef contact list:
  • A £28 post includes 30-day visibility and a curated list of chefs who may be available.
  • We do not guarantee a response or hire.
  • All negotiations, hiring, and payments are arranged directly between the parties.

5. USER RESPONSIBILITIES
The following table outlines user and platform responsibilities:
Action Your Responsibility Our Responsibility
Posting a job Accuracy, legality Display ad, send list
Applying to job Honest profile Deliver ad, provide contact
Misuse reporting Report it to us Investigate & respond
Hiring/firing Contractual terms None (you’re in control)

6. PLATFORM CONDUCT RULES
Users must adhere to the following rules:
  • No spam, harassment, impersonation, or fraudulent behavior.
  • No job ads that violate UK employment law or advertising standards.
  • Users who misuse the platform will be warned or banned.

7. CONTENT OWNERSHIP
You own the content you post. You grant us a non-exclusive license to display, distribute, and promote your content. We may remove listings or profiles that violate our guidelines.

8. AI USE DISCLOSURE
We may use AI tools to:
  • Match chefs to roles.
  • Curate chef lists based on filters.
  • Suggest job posts or profiles.

AI is used to enhance efficiency, not to replace human decision-making. Always review any matches or suggestions personally.

9. EXAMPLE SCENARIO: POSTING A JOB
You’re a pub owner looking for a chef for Saturday night. You post on TCN. Within hours, you get a list of chefs. You message one, they accept. You pay them directly and set the terms. TCN doesn’t oversee that relationship — it’s yours alone.

10. EXAMPLE SCENARIO: JOB SEEKER EXPERIENCE
You’re a chef applying to a job that says “£18/hour and live-in.” You arrive and it’s £14/hour and no room. You tell us. We investigate, and if needed, remove the ad and ban the poster. But we can’t recover money or act as a legal agent.

11. DISPUTE HANDLING & ESCALATION
Formal complaints should be submitted to: privacy@thechef.network. We aim to respond within 5 business days and resolve within 21. We are not a tribunal, but we take misuse seriously.

12. DATA HANDLING & JURISDICTION
The following applies to data handling and jurisdiction:
  • Operated by Matalino.ai, based in the Philippines.
  • Follows Philippine Data Privacy Act and processes data under UK GDPR where applicable.
  • All legal matters governed by UK law and English courts.

13. DATA BREACH PROTOCOLS
In the event of a breach:
  • We will notify affected users within 72 hours.
  • We will outline the nature of the breach, what data is affected, and what actions are being taken.
  • You have the right to request a report of your data held with us.

14. DATA SUBJECT REQUEST PROCEDURE (DSAR)
To access, correct, or delete your data:
  • Email privacy@thechef.network from the email you used to register.
  • State your full name and nature of the request.
  • We will confirm identity and respond within 30 days.

15. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
We use Standard Contractual Clauses to transfer data between the UK and the Philippines securely, in line with GDPR.

16. PLAIN LANGUAGE GUARANTEE
We keep this document readable. If a sentence confuses you, tell us — we’ll translate it into plain English.
Example: Legal: “We retain data as long as legally required.” Plain: “We keep your data only as long as we need to.”

17. FUTURE FEATURES: CONSENT DASHBOARD
We’re working on a dashboard where users can:
  • Opt in/out of marketing.
  • Change data visibility.
  • Download or delete account info.

For now, email privacy@thechef.network for any of the above.

18. DIVERSITY DATA (IF EVER COLLECTED)
If we collect demographic data for inclusion tracking:
  • It’s 100% optional.
  • It’s anonymized.
  • It’s never sold or used for targeting.

19. FINAL NOTE
The Chef Network is your platform — we’re here to connect people, not control them. Use it respectfully. Help us keep it clean. And let us know what would make it better.

For all legal, data, or policy questions, contact: Privacy Officer at Matalino.ai – privacy@thechef.network.
