As a Salted Orange Chef, you are primarily responsible for the high-quality food production and kitchen set-up aspects as it pertains to each event. Follow company standards on setting up for the event, outlined procedures, cleaning and hygiene.
Event Chefs at times may be required to start their day at the unit (warehouse) pre-event, to help prepare, gather all necessary food items and equipment, load vans and gather any additional materials they may need. However, you may just be required to show up directly to the event.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assists in event kitchen set-up areas by making sure it is clean and organised for the event.
· Assisting the Head Chef to create menu items, recipes and develop dishes.
· Will be required to work unit (warehouse) kitchen shifts as well as event shifts.
· Ensuring food quality and excellent standards are maintained for all dishes created.
· Ability to multi-task to ensure seamless service through the event.
· Display good customer relation skills when having to interact with guests, clients and venue personnel.
· Assists in the unloading a reloading of company vehicles at events.
· Performs other duties as assigned to a high standard.
· Being responsible for health and safety.
· Being responsible for food hygiene practices.
· Assist with determining food inventory needs, stock and ordering.
· Assisting in training new kitchen employees to event and kitchen standards.
· Assist in managing food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimises waste, plus works with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns.
· Supervises food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and company standards.
· Works with Head Chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability, and training opportunities.
· Verifies that food storage units meet standards and are consistently well-managed.
