Working Hours:
32.5 hours per week
Monday to Friday
07:30 AM – 02:00 PM
Pay Rate: £13.27 per hour
Role Overview
We are seeking for an experienced Chef / Head of Kitchen to support catering operations at Felixstowe. The role involves leading the kitchen, preparing meals, and ensuring smooth daily catering service for students.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook hot and cold school meals daily.
Produce approximately 110 hot meals and 50 cold packed lunches each day.
Manage weekly food orders and maintain kitchen supplies.
Conduct monthly stock takes and maintain accurate inventory.
Oversee kitchen operations and maintain food hygiene standards.
Work alongside a Food Service Assistant (09:30 – 13:30) who prepares cold packed lunches.
Requirements
Enhanced DBS (mandatory)
Food Safety Certificate
Previous experience as a Chef or Head of Kitchen, preferably in a school or high-volume catering environment.
Strong organisational and kitchen management skills.
