Chef – Care Home (Part-Time / Ad Hoc Cover)
We are seeking a reliable and caring Chef to provide part-time, ad hoc cover for sickness and holiday leave within our care home.
This role is ideal for someone looking for flexible work while making a positive difference to residents’ wellbeing through nutritious, home-cooked meals.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook balanced, nutritious meals for residents
Cater for special dietary requirements (e.g. diabetic, soft, vegetarian, allergies)
Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
Follow set menus and adapt meals to residents’ needs and preferences
Work closely with care staff to ensure mealtimes run smoothly
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Chef or Cook (care home or similar environment preferred)
Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Reliable, flexible, and able to cover shifts at short notice
Food hygiene certificate (or willingness to obtain)
