Who we are With 1 year under our belt, we have seen successful growth towards our ultimate goal of creating a long lasting local institution with wide spread appeal and attention to details. We love and care about making as much as we can from scratch, having already established our sourdough, eclectic ice cream flavours, pizza dough, condiments and more. This is just the beginning and we’re so excited to see who will fit right into our ambitious ethos.
Who you are You must confidently have something to say when it comes to food. We expect positive forward momentum and encouragement within the team. No space for big egos here.
You must have a respect for structure and systems, with a knowledge of EHO expectations and focus on sustainable high operational standards.
You mustn’t be shy of working hard. As we are a small kitchen team, not a brigade, we share all the responsibilities of each section, which includes supporting the FOH team where possible. Understand that together we are stronger – this is how we will win.
Ideally someone who can collaborate and bounce ideas with the Head Chef with the view to building something unique, not only in the area, but something that will draw the attention of foodies and general punters from far and wide.
The ability to confidently train team with patience and respect. Everyone is learning, including yourself. But everyone has qualities and things to learn from.
Understand that we are a pub and that requires a very specific temperament and aptitude. Just as there are classes of restaurant, there are also classes of pub. The Wheelies is the highest standard of pub.
Understand the importance of consistency within a developing business and understand where innovation and structure have their place.
Affable temperament, we aren’t interested in combative attitudes. We operate as one team.
