Head Chef

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Head Chef and/or Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing food preparation, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional dining experiences. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a passion for culinary excellence, leadership, and hospitality. Previous work with Mexican style cooking is an advantage. Candidates should possess strong supervisory experience, a comprehensive understanding of food safety standards, and the ability to lead a team effectively. Previous restaurant experience and expertise in food production are essential to succeed in this position.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
• Manage food production processes to ensure timely delivery of dishes during service hours.
• Develop and implement innovative menus in collaboration with management.
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
• Train and mentor team members to enhance their culinary skills and professional development.
• Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control costs effectively.
• Ensure the kitchen is organised, clean, and compliant with health and safety legislation. Experience
• Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
• Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team efficiently.
• In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
• Experience in menu development and food presentation.
• Familiarity with restaurant operations, serving procedures, and customer service excellence.
