Sous Chef

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Wok Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about Asian cuisine, particularly wok cooking, and possess a strong background in food preparation and kitchen operations. This role involves preparing authentic dishes with precision and ensuring high standards of food safety and presentation. The Wok Chef will play a vital part in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our customers through expert meal preparation and culinary craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of wok-based dishes, ensuring authentic flavours and presentation standards are maintained
• Manage the entire cooking process from ingredient preparation to final plating
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the wok station in accordance with food safety regulations
• Monitor ingredient freshness and stock levels, notifying management of shortages or expiry concerns
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders during busy service periods
• Follow all health and safety guidelines to uphold a safe working environment
• Assist in developing new recipes and menu items to enhance the culinary offerings Skills
• Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, particularly with wok techniques
• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards
• Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, especially in Asian cuisine or similar culinary styles
• Excellent meal preparation skills with attention to detail in presentation
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours
• Good organisational skills and ability to work as part of a team
