SHIO, an Asian-inspired street food restaurant at the Boathouse, Newquay Harbour, is on the lookout for a passionate chef to join our team as soon as possible with full time hours until we close our doors for winter at the end of september!

At SHIO, we pride ourselves on being part of an incredible community of street food vendors, creating an unbeatable dining experience that showcases the best of Asian flavours. Our innovative menu is a testament to our love for experimenting in the kitchen, and we’re always eager to try out new recipes and concepts that set us apart from the crowd.

As we gear up for summer, we need a dedicated chefs who thrives in a high-paced environment. Our doors are open seven days a week from 11:30AM to 9 PM, and while we know things can get hectic, we believe in keeping spirits high and having fun along the way.

We’re looking for someone who has a good sense of humor and knows when to switch to concentration mode. If you’re an experienced chef and can handle a busy service while still sharing a laugh with the team, you might just be the perfect fit for us.

The boathouse is a busy and thriving environment so would be suited to someone who is full of life and energy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
• Ensure food safety and sanitation practices are strictly followed in the kitchen.
• Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to enhance culinary skills.
• Manage food production processes to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with team members to create a positive dining experience for guests.
• Maintain inventory and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Qualifications
• Proven experience in food preparation and cooking techniques
• Strong culinary experience with a focus on food safety
• Demonstrated leadership skills in a kitchen environment
• Previous supervisory experience in the kitchen
• Background in hospitality and restaurants
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen environment Job Type: Full-time
• Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
